Nathaniel Horwitz: Photography Pioneer In Philadelphia
Nathaniel Brooks Horwitz was a pioneering figure in the development of photography. He partnered with E.T. Candee to form Horwitz & Candee, a prominent studio specializing in portraiture and landscape photography. Horwitz was also a founding member of the Philadelphia Photographic Exhibition and played a significant role in the National Photographic Exhibition of 1864. His contributions helped establish Philadelphia as a hub for the photographic industry.
